Teddy Bear Cockapoos

As a relatively new crossbreed, the Cockapoo Shih Tzu cross has not yet been given a definitive name. Here we like to call them Teddy Bear Cockapoos for their smaller and teddybear-like appearance.

It is thought that the Shih Tzu’s more gentle nature may help to temper some of the extremes of the Cockapoo’s exuberance and make for a more manageable pet.
Another driver for the development of this cross is to continue to meet consumer demand for smaller and smaller teddy bear like dogs that remain puppy-like in appearance for life. As well as the Shih Tzu’s larger eyes combined with a Cockapoo's wavy coat and coloring can make for an adorable looking little dog.
GREAT FOR
Small homes
These dogs are small, 10 to 20 lbs. They don't need as much exercise as larger doodles. Are easily potty and crate trained.

Allergy Sufferers
Both the Shih Tzu and Cockapoos are hyper-allergic breeds, which make them a great choice for allergy sufferers.
Travelers
These dogs are pretty small and can usually travel with you easily in cars, and most planes. It is also cheaper to get them dog sat then larger breeds.
Kids
These dogs are small and playful and very friendly. They get along well with children and are fairly easily trained.
